Magic Gate is a newly discovered and highly exclusive cave dive site in the Chania area, offering a rare glimpse into an untouched underwater environment. This remarkable cave has been explored only by Nikolas Giannoulakis, making it one of the most unique and least-visited sites in the region.
Originally a dry karstic cave, Magic Gate was formed above sea level before being gradually flooded by seawater. Today, it reveals a stunning interior rich in stalactitic formations, creating an intricate and beautifully decorated underwater landscape. The cave extends to a maximum depth of around 30 meters, with passages that showcase the geological history of the area in remarkable detail.
The environment inside is both delicate and visually striking, with formations that have remained preserved due to minimal human impact. However, due to its overhead nature and complexity, this site is strictly suitable only for properly trained and equipped cave divers.
