Try CCR – Your First Rebreather Experience

The SSI Try CCR experience is designed for certified divers who want to discover the world of closed circuit rebreather diving in a safe, controlled and highly supervised environment.

Unlike traditional open circuit scuba, rebreathers recycle the breathing gas you exhale, creating an incredibly quiet and efficient diving experience with extended underwater time, optimized gas consumption and minimal bubbles. This allows divers to experience marine life in a completely different way while exploring advanced diving technology used by technical divers, explorers and underwater professionals worldwide.

At Hania Diving Center, participants have the opportunity to experience multiple premium CCR units depending on availability, configuration and diver profile, including:

• JJ CCR
• Hollis Prism 2 CCR
• SF2 CCR

In addition, the new Halcyon Symbios CCR will become available as part of our CCR fleet once the official SSI training program for the unit is fully announced and released.

This experience is conducted by experienced SSI CCR instructors and is aimed at divers who are curious about rebreather technology and would like to take their first step into the world of technical and silent diving.

The program includes:

• Introduction to CCR diving principles
• Equipment orientation and configuration
• Safety procedures and breathing techniques
• Controlled confined/open water experience dive
• Direct supervision throughout the experience

Diver Prerequisites

To participate in the SSI Try CCR experience, divers must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Hold a minimum Open Water Diver certification or equivalent
• Have a minimum of 12 logged dives

For divers interested in continuing toward full CCR certification, SSI standards for CCR Diving certification additionally require:

• Enriched Air Nitrox certification
• Deep Diving certification (or qualifying deep dive experience)
